I had hail damage on my GMC truck 4x4 2008 loaded. It went into Geico and had a adjuster give a estimate of 2759.00, Now its reads on the website it now 7500.00.

This much damage will hurt the value of the truck. These is know fault of mine. The total cost of the damage should be 7500 X 2 half goes the repair and half goes to the loan holder. Agree or disagree, I need help.

They made sure to keep the damage low on the estimate so I would agree with the repair. This repair is getting done buy a dealer and they will report to carfax of the damage with will in turn lower the value of my truck.

Monetary Loss: $14.

Location: Dallas, Texas

All ins. co's will accept a "responsible" supplement from a acceptable paint and body shop.

The check they provide up front is simply to get you started and may infact cover it. However, a supplement request for additional money is common. The request must be from a responsible repair shop of your choice before any work is started - outside of replacing a windshield.... In addition.

Chose a shop by asking how about repairs. Will they use new or used parts. If new, will it be from dealer or from a 3rd party supplier like you find on google. Also know, once the age/miles increase, so do the insurance provider right to refuse New parts.

Why put on a brand new fender on a 1999 chevy. You have 1yr for repairs. If you plan on selling - trading, it's best holding off repairs until the time your ready to sale. This will allow you to request additional funds from ins provider de-valued your trade or hold the repair shop accountable for any shady repair overlook.

It's all about timing. you have small window once the repairs are completed.

Good luck .

Wait are you trying to say that the insurance company should pay the value of the vehicle in repairs and then pay off your loan? If the vehicle is totalled, they pay the owner which is the bank if you have not paid it off. They don't also buy you a car on top of paying off your outstanding loan.

Never never never settle for a check on hail damage. Take it to a body shop and get the real value of the repair. My Mazda 3 2007 had hail damage three months ago and they valued the repairs at 4,500 I argued the point and refused the check.

I took it to Gieco express and told them to repair it. The Gieco agent submitted a supplemental estimate that totaled the car.

The value I received was more than Blue Book as Gieco compared the price of ten similar replacement vehicles online.

All and all with the exception of the initial estimator Gieco took excellent care of my loss.

there may have been a supplemental estimate written? in other words the damage was intially estimated at 2759.00, but then additional damage was found during the course of repairs?

Theyu owe you deminition of value. The insurance adjusters will lie through their teeth about owing you it...mine did on two seperate occasions.

State Law, the insurance company owes you the difference of value from before to after repair.

FACT !!! I've gotten mine both times !!!

Damage can happen to any vehicle. You insurance will only cover the repair of that damage or, if there is enough damage, the will buy the car for "fair market value." This is how insurance has always worked.

Damage and loss of value is a fact of owning a car. You knew, or should have known, about this risk when you bought the car.
