My son was rear-ended by a Geico customer on 8/29/08, and when we contact Geico they said they had to get hold of the other party. We heard nothing for 3 weeks (even though we kept calling). They finally got hold of us to bring the car in for inspection (no, they didn't send out an adjuster like Progressive does) on 9/22/08, at which point they totalled our car. It is now 10/17/08 and we are STILL waiting on them to send the check to our bank. They claimed (after all this time) that we needed to sign a
power of attorney to sign the car over to them (this after they had already sold the car to an
auction place!) in order for them to issue the check. We overnighted the POA, and they claimed they sent the check out
last Thursday. Still waiting. I will NEVER have Geico as an
insurance company. They just don't seem to have their sh** together.

If you were insured your insurance should have paid to fix your car and gone after Geico to get there money back . I have been with AAA of california. for 42 years I have been hit a couple of times others drivers fault . they paid for every thing. And went after the other insurance Co . for their money. You pay to insure your car. If you don't carry enough insurance Then tough s---t .
