Your first mistake was in having Geico as your insurance company! I learned that lesson two decades ago, son.

They are NOT the cheapest and surely not the best insurance company out there, regardless of their commercials.

However, I am not sure what it is you want them to do for you. You seem not to know what is wrong with your car for sure, and I know Geico does not, so why not just take it to a repair shop---have it towed if need be---and get an estimate of repair.

Work with Geico on it after you know what is wrong and how much to fix. If you have rental car coverage, they should help with a rental but if you don't, then out of luck.

Geico Should Spend Less on commercials and more on helping people their insured have harmed

Geico is spending so much money on those *** commercials but when their insured causes damage to your car they don't want to pay. I am sickened by Geico because I got hit by one of their elder insured. The sheriff said it was clearly his fault and Geico said they will only pay 40%. I am on a mission to cause them the same discomfort they are causing me. They told me their insured said I ran a stop sign but I did not. Their insured clearly did not know what the *** was going on because the sheriff and I had to help him locate his phone number, his paperwork and he clearly apologized to me for hitting me (from behind) Mathematically what he told Geico does not line up to where he hit me in my back end and took my bumper off. I am pissed because now I have to waste more of my time!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Geico pulls this all the time.

I have a seen a bunch of similar claims on this website. I had a case where their driver rear ended me at a stop sign. Geico kept stringing me along until they finally offered some low ball settlement and told me to take it or leave. I think they thought I would give up because getting an attorney wouldn't make sense.

The money was too low. I found this company on yahoo answers that settles insurance claims.

They were called Cerberus Subrogation Professionals. They got me all of my money and I didn't have to pay a cent until they won.

GECIO is not paying to fix my car!

A week and a half ago I rear ended somebody, right near my parents house. Now almost 100 percent of the time, rear ending somebody is your fault, I hit a patch of ice, and tried to brake but the lady stopped short where there was no snow at the intersection, causing 9000 dollars worth of damage to my car and 5000 to hers. I do not know what to do! I have a brand new car, financed, which was supposed to have collision, and did, but apparently after my first accident, a year ago, with a deer, they removed the coverage because of a rate to consent form.....which I "did not fill out", and my premium dropped 10 dollars. I thought my premium dropped because I just turned 21. Its financed, I had full coverage, and now I have a broken car which I have to fix. DESPITE the fact that I have the original faxed GEICO Rate to consent form, signed and dated, which im 100 percent sure I sent, theyre not paying. AM I wrong?

Get your bank involved - don't make any more payments and have them go after Geico. If there is any funny business being carried on by Geico then the bank will have a better chance of uncovering it than you will.

AMber bRight is a worst customer service person

AMBER bRIGHT!!! please DO NOT forget this name from claims department. Thanks to her, Gieco is losing 3 year customers. We are only 24, they lost rest of our auto insured years forever. Mainly aMber bright, who claims to be the supervisor of the claims department is just one of the extremely difficult person to talk to. She automatically set us out with claims when we did not ask for her to do so. when we ask her to not file a claim. She talked with very unprofessional tune of voice. I heard people laughing behind it too. Thanks amber for being such a ***

I have had to deal with this woman before also. She is very condescending to her customers and would get on anyone's nerves. Not sure why she still has a job.

it is your choice whether or not to file for your own damages. it is not your choice whether or not to report a loss. all losses are required to be reported to your insurance company as per your policy contract.

GEICO's legal team kept deceased defendant client "ALIVE "

GEICO's legal team kept deceased defendant client "ALIVE "
In a previous hearing, the Judge asked Wade J. Gallagher, GEICO's lead attorney where his client was, Mr. Gallagher let the Judge know that his client, the defendant, could not attend court that day because he was not feeling very well... In fact his client had been deceased for quite some time! GEICO's attorneys placed themselves in a Grave Situation as they misrepresented to both the Judge and in court fillings that their defendant client was still alive! GEICO could be faced with making a large settlement in favor of the Plaintiff who was left holding the bag with serious permant physical injuries in addition to personal damages growing out those injuries after being hit by the Defendant's truck. (Federal Procedure Rule 25). The accident Plantiff victim has been in litigation with GEICO since 2000! GEICO's client's truck hit the Plaintiff causing serious permanent injuries and continues to seek justice for the accident trauma he sustained has presented his plea to The U.S. Supreme Court conveying a message of faith in the U.S. Justice System even when up against powerful external forces. Reminding to all that an individual has the right to make a difference as there are countless of accident victims who also had similar experiences only to find that they are without voice. GEICO, grudgingly in their 1st offer to settle for the life long disabilities done to Halstead was a miserly $36,000 for damages which will far exceed into the millions over the course of Halstead's life. When Halstead won a motion during one of the hearings, GEICO's lead attorney (Wade Gallagher) in a fit of total disgust intentionally kicked Halstead in the leg as Gallagher exited the D.C. Court room. Halstead recently filed his complaint against GEICO with the U.S. Supreme Court - the highest court in the United States to help shed light upon unethical treatment by the mega insurance carriers to the innumerous accident victims seeking fair and just settlements in a timely manner...

Insurance companies are in business to make money for themselves and their stock shareholders... not to really pay for anything.

Why do you think they drag their feet when ever they have to payout, and why many cases drag on and on even when they end up in court?

BECAUSE THEY WOULD LOSE MONEY!!! Its the same way for health insurance...you pay out the *** in premiums but they barely cover any true medical costs and will deny/ refuse having to pay any thing they aren't made to.

Geico Supports Drunk Drivers!

On the 22nd of October, 2010, my vehicle was hit by a drunk driver. The driver then continued to leave the scene of the accident. I called the St Petersburg Police Department, and soon thereafter the drunk driver was pulled over. He was given a breathalyzer test (results were .171) and cited with DUI property damage, careless driving, and leaving the scene of the crash. The following Monday, I called Geico to submit my claim. Upon rescheduling my appointment for the Geico adjuster was I told that Geico was refusing my claim because the driver of the other vehicle felt that he did not hit my vehicle. Even after seeing the police report, Geico has held firm behind their support for the drunk driver that hit my vehicle. They also have no interest in seeing either of the vehicles and their respective damage. The only conclusion I can make from their disregard for my statements and the police report is that GEICO SUPPORTS DRUNK DRIVING! I hope you share this story so everyone will know that if they are hit by a drunk driver (who has Geico as their policy holder), they know what side Geico will be on. If you have any additional comments or questions, please contact me via email (quazixie@***.com) or telephone (727.439.2556).

And yes, we called that same evening. But I do appreciate your kind remarks:)

Did you even call their insurance company? Do you have collision coverage, or even uninsured motorist coverage?

I mean if you have liability coverage it covers you if you hit him, but it only covers him not you. Its a rule of thumb you ***.

Insurance companies don't approve dealerships or vehicle purchases, they insure vehicles for people who buy them. Dealerships sometimes choose which insurance company to tell their customer's about.

This sounds like a dealership integrity issue.

GEICO ***!

I recently bought a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T and within two weeks it got vandalized in Boston.I brought it to the Geico ajuster who gave 3 days to repair it, and three days rental. Once i got it to the body shop they took a good look at the dent in the hood and said it should be replaced instead of using filler. This because the hood is made of aluminum, not traditional metal (Geico AJUSTER NEVER MENTIONED THIS)and the "bondo" was not gauranteed to work..Aluminum expands and contracts differently than metal, and with all the engine heat and the sun beaming on the hood (car is black in color)...it might look good for a while but it would surely pull away at some point. This was on a Tuesday, and i called the ajusted to see about a new hood and was told "If the shop cannot fix it they need to send in a supllement and we will get you a new hood"...The shop did that and it took until Friday for a different ajuster to go to the shop to deny the supplement. There goes my three day rental waiting on geico to get the ajuster out to the shop. The ajuster calls me late Friday to tell me and that if i disagree to call his supervisor, but that i cannot do that until Monday because he is off fo the weekend. I call Monday and told him what the original ajuster said, and now Geico is going back on thier word. I told him Geico had originally wrote 8 hours labor to "bondo" the hood, where as painting a new one would only be 3 hours so they would save 5 hours labor and also the sripe and fender geico said needed to be painted and blended for another 8 hours did not need to be done and the shop fixed that pretty quickly saving money..so i asked he put that money towards the price of a new hood and anything over the original estimate i would pay for...so as to not cost geico any additional money that their original estimate...they said no. so i bought a new hood myself, paid to have it painted and put on out of my pocket. I returned the rental on Tuesday and now geico wont pay for more that three days rental even though it took their own ajuster four days to go look at the car! There is more...the shop attempted to repair the hood at the request of the ajuster. The hood warped from sanding just as they said it would. they then sent in another supplement to have the ajuster back out to look and it has been a week with no response. I then called geico only to be told to call Jim the ajuster and i did. got voicemail saying to call Gretchen, who i called only to get a voicemail to call Jim and i did that too..got a voicemail from him too "out of the office"..Then the rental car co. calls me and says Geico is only paying three days rental and they requested an extension three time and still have got no reply. Now technically if i hadn't bought a new hood out of pocket i would still be driving the rental at $45/day???would Geico be paying for that? They should since everybody is waiting on them..

so in the event it does not go through they contact the FBI..and they get the ck...I'am 62 but i won't fall for that ***...SCAM SCAM!!!!!!.. AGAIN GO TO THE BANK

#196353

Through it away!! It's a scam and these people use the same tactic using other big company names, I have received these sort of checks at least 3 times in the last couple of years all claiming to be other companies. Report it to your Attorney Generals office as well.

#166440

Call Geico and ask them if they have a program like that. If not, then it is not Geico sending you the check, it is a scammer, using Geico's name.

GEICO- refusing to make a victim whole

Currently my daughter was a VICTIM in an accident with a GEICO customer, they are refusing to pay the edmunds or NADA value of her totaled vehicle. They keep trying to give me the trade in value, not the retail. My argument is she has to purchase and replace the car in an accident where she is not at fault. I have provided them with internet searches showing I couldn't get the car for less than what I asked. They keep offering me $1700 less than the value. They will not replace her stereo system either. I have contacted upper managment and they keep putting me in this crazy loop, I contacted Bershire and they were no help. I will provide anyone with copies of my paperwork and claim number (017593****101-131 date of accident 6/19/2010) at anytime, since I have seen that GEICO employees troll this site. This is why I am glad to be a 10yr State Farm Customer

they should be paying you actual cash value, not trade in, not retail. the amount you have to pay for a replacement vehicle has no bearing on what your car is worth. they have to pay you for the value of what you lost, not the cost of replacement

#295921

UPDATE: I have been given a "final offer" still below and still not made whole. They are forcing me to contact the insurance comissioner and an attorney. I laugh because the *** backwards *** forgot to add the loss of use and stereo system I was told I could have...this company is a joke!

day 100 here and my claim hasnt been paid we have done everything asked of us and yet its still under review i am furious!

I completely understand where you are coming from, Wendy. It's been two months since my accident (where I wasn't at fault), and Geico still hasn't been paying my medical bills, ones which they said they were going to pay!

I contacted the person handling my claim, they said they had to process the bills still - does it take over two weeks?

I didn't really think so. I wish you luck with your claim.

Geico treated me well for 11 years

Been with Geico for 11 years. Had a problem with finances in Janaury '10 and just couldn't keep up. Had to give up the car for repo, couldn't reinstate myself after the third cancellation from Geico because I was penniless. Called Geico and told them the bad news about the repo. Actually I gave the car up voluntarily. Not to worry Geico said. When you're ready come back to us. We'll even restart you where you left off since you've been with us for 11 years with a good record."We'll still be here" I was told whether it was six months, a year, or ten years from now. They didn't care. Geico dropped my rates twice. They couldn't a third time because I used up all my discounts. Geico was certainly more understanding of my financial woes than the utility companies. I missed a payment with them? Bam, greedy add ons. I missed a payment with Geico, sure they sent out the cancellation which is understandable. But they let me reinstate myself--twice--and didn't raise my rates! Geico had no choice but to cancel me a third time. But they said hey, when you get another car in six months(I told them it'll take a lot more than 6 months) They said when you get another car in a year(I said it'll take a lot more than a year, two at the most)they said when you get another car, even if it's 10 years from now you call us back and we'll give you a new policy and because you've been a great customer for 11 years with paying on time and no accidents, you've been lowered in price twice for having a good clean record. We're not going to hold your financial problems against you. When you're ready, we'll reinstate you where you left off except with a new policy number, so you won't feel like you're a totally new customer starting from the top and building up discounts again. I'll have to test that to see if that's accurate. All I can say is Geico treated me well for 11 years and I'm hoping it won't take me 11 years to save up the money for a replacement car they can insure.
