Geico is a rip off

i had Geico insurance and was hit by another car who crossed over into my lane, I was delivering something for my work and got hit, 100% the other guys fault. Geico told me they were going to raise my rates, by 200%, because I needed commercial insurance, then they refused to go after the other party for any injuries I've incurred. So I had to hire a personal injury attorney to get compensation. Geico Is the worst insurance company I've ever had. Save your money and get an insurance company that will fight for your rights and not raise your rates at their whims. Geico is not worth the headaches, they suck.

You're lucky they didn't drop you but instead rated for business use. If you try to insure a commercial vehicle on a family auto policy and the insurance company finds out, that is misrepresentation. It's grounds to cancel your policy and deny any/all claims because you lied.

Geico has by far the coolest TV ads. How can you not love that adorable green gecko?

Every time a Geico ad comes on I crank up the volume cause sometimes the ad's have cool tunes playing and the Geico gecko's super cool aussie accent positively rocks! If a company has such super cool ads, then they must be a rock on company!

@PissedConsumer709970

The only way they(geico) pay for those super slick ads is with unpaid claims! Get real and I hope you are never involved in an accident that involves a Geico claim as they will stonewall you completly.

#693158

So you had a business car insured on a family auto policy so you lied and the wonder why geico refused the claim. It would be just like you lying to your health insurance company saying you have no pre existing conditions and you actually have three types of cancer.

Denied claim

In 2009 my vehicle was involved in a flood. The insurance company and the dealership made an agreement that they would fix the vehicle as cheaply as possible. The water was inside my vehicle up to the point where the radio was in the vehicle. All the lights were on and I called geico to have my vehicle towed by of course the tow truck driver didn't show up. The only thing that was changed in the vehicle was the radio and the interior door. Now that it is 2013 my ABS light is on and I took it to a different dealership and informed the service guy about what had happened in 2009 he said that my problem is due to the flood most likely when I contacted the geico I was told that because I had so many miles on my vehicle that they couldn't cover claim. Geico at no time went to the dealership to look at my vehicle. The supervisor with guy asked the service guy was water still in the vehicle which was the stupidest thing. I had to call geico for 4 weeks before they rejected the claim and they didn't look at the vehicle. Geico is cheap by they don't care about their customers.

GEICO DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

I was in a recent accident; I reported my claim to the insurance company GEICO Indemnity. I was told my claim was denied because I needed a car inspection because I was a new client. I am not new business and have had a policy with the company for several years. I only...

When you let a policy lapse, you are no longer an existing customer. You are a new customer with a new policy.

Most companies will require you get a new photo inspection when this happens. You didn't get it done, which is why the full coverage was stripped and then why the claim was denied.

You were not treated unfairly at all. They are just following state regulations.

Besides, you would have received multiple notifications by mail and would have been notified at the time of buying your new policy. If you had taken the 10 minutes to get a photo inspection, you would not have run into this issue with the claim being denied.

May save you money... until something happens.

We switched insurance companies to save money, which would've been great if nothing happened! My car was perfect until Sat, Apr 27th, there was a flood which I was stuck in. Mon, Apr 29th, realized the check engine light was on, called Geico to get it towed. Tue, Apr 30th their towing company finally arrived to tow my car... to the wrong dealership (Nissan) (not the one I wanted, Toyota, but they said to keep it there anyway since their flood specialist is there). Thu, May 2nd finally heard from geico adjuster flood specialist Ricky Roads, saying car is "perfectly fine". Next week Wed May 8th, since the car was "fine" drove it and it stops in the middle of the highway. Had to get it towed to Nissan, they said they looked at it last time and couldn't see anything and that there was nothing they could do. Towed it to Toyota, within hours they said there was *** in my radiator. Thu, May 9th Ricky Roads said not due to flood (even though never had any problem until the flood) so won't be covered. Geico said they'd send another adjuster Friday or Monday. Called Tues, May 14th, no adjuster was notified, so had to remind them again. Wednesday adjuster came, said hole in radiator was caused by "unknown causes" and would not be covered. In short, Geico wasted my time, put me in danger by saying my car is "ok", made me overheat my engine (so instead of just a radiator, I need to replace engine as well), saying nothing was wrong with it, and refuse to acknowledge my car was damaged by flood even though it happened RIGHT after the flood. I had Liberty Mutual before, and when I was in an accident, they were hassle free and I didn't have to jump through any hoops. So unless you live in a place with no floods, no vandalizers, no snow, then you can save money on the month-to-month fee. Otherwise, don't expect to save money.

recently my boyfriend was at work,3 weeks ago.he had his car parked and a 21 year old decided to go joyriding and damaged our car in the back bumper.my boyfriend took pictures and imediatly called the police they took a report.my boyfriend then called geico they said it would take 10 days to investigate.we then called them back they are the worst so lazy and full of excuses they havent even looked at our car and they say o you dont have colission coverage also he has called them several times they dont answer he leaves messages but they dont call back. they are lazy, greedy, and fail to provide fairness to their customers. there are better insurnce companies when our policy is up we are changing to better decent insurance.i am angry with the way geico avoids and refuses to help when a customer is a victim and there car is hit.geico is the worst.

Geico reps won't settle claim. Bad faith

Geico represents guy who caused accident while talking on phone in the rain. Me and my 3 kids were injured. Geico wants to settle for $600 over the medical expenses. The geico rep shaneka rousse is nasty and bullying. She is forcing me to hire lawyer and file lawsuit....

No offense there guy, but do you live under a rock? Regardless of who is at fault for an accident the deductible is due.

No matter what. If you are not at fault the negligent party's insurance is in most cases obligated to reimburse that deductible. And just because an insurance company looks out for you by telling you to repair your car at a dealership, doesn't mean they are responsible for the dealers mistakes. GEICO sells insurance, and they pay to repair your car.

That is it. Grow up.

WARNING BEWARE OF GEICO CLAIMS

started "LIABILITY" Ins. Coverage with GEICO on 2/21/13. On 3/29/13 my car was hit while parked. I contacted GEICO to inquire if I was supposed to file a claim because I had LIABILITY only. The GEICO rep. informed me to file a claim, call the police and take the car in for estimate. After this, that's when the '***' began - I was treated like a criminal being investiaged by the FBI for Ins. Fraud. The final decision was that my Policy didn't have comprehensive/collision coverage which was my question from the beginning. It should not have taken GEICO REPS an entire week to determine that my policy didn't qualify for a claim. GEICO knew full well the coverages of my "Liability Policy" but chose to go forth with "Bad Faith", to humilate, demean, and harrass the customer. I have since switched to ALLSTATE

If you are shopping around for insurance, please do not go to Geico!! I was rear-ended by a Geico-insured customer and Geico refuses to reimburse me for car rental fees while my car was being repaired!!! And their customer service is absolutely terrible! When I asked the Adjuster why he wasn't taking the bumper off to examine underneath, he said to me, "Well, that would take 15 minutes to ***, and about 15 minutes to put back on"!! Was it THAT MUCH of an INCONVENIENCE? The car that hit me was completely smashed in, obviously causing damage underneath. Also, when I submitted the rental car receipts, a rep called me back to say she only received one page - later to find she did not even know HOW to page forward! They gave me such a run-around with so many issues that I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE.

Poor customer service

A giant Palm frond fell on my Camaro Z 28, crashing through the T-Top, breaking that glass and cracking the dashboard. Geico offered me an option with mechanics locations, I chose one, and my car was picked up & towed immediately. Sounds too good to be true?, well it is. I had to have 2 inspectors and a supervisor assess the damages, as they could not decide whether to cover the cracked dash as they claim the Camaros dashes are prone to cracking and would not be covered even though the royal palm frond was still in the vehicle along with all the glass. They agreed to cover it 10 days later (the total claim was only for $800 minus my $500 deductible). After many phone calls to customer service & the mechanic, I finally got my car back in Three Weeks! Ridiculous! Don't use Geico without taking the rental car option

Bad Customer Service

I cancelled Geico insurance company due to my rates steadily going up and we hadn't had an accident or ticket. I had to email them my cancellation letter and the date I would like for my insurance with them to stop. My date was April 17,2013. They wrote me back to say that they were sorry to lose my business so my coverage would stop on April 12,2013. They then told me that if I didn't have insurance until the 17th that I should turn my license plates into my local vehicle department to avoid penalties. Now that is as sorry as you can get. I called them back and another agent took the call and told me that I should not of gotten that email and changed the day to the 17th. They had the nerve to say that maybe in the future they can get my service back...Not gonna happen

Ripped off by Geico

"15 minutes can save you 15% or more on car insurance" Well let me tell everyone how Geico saves 15% on car insurances, they rip people off. Just hope you never get hit by a Geico insured customer, but if you do prepare to be taken advantage of. I do not have Geico insurance and NEVER will. I was ran off the road and pushed into a curb doing 50mph by a Geico customer while on my way to the grocery store. Due to the accident 2 of my tires were damaged and would you believe that Geico made me pay part of the replacement cost. I wound up having to pay nearly $300 out of my own pocket 2 weeks before Christmas because as Geico claims "I'm now better off than I was before the accident. We just helped you prematurely buy 2 new tires." Mind you, I was 0% liable in the accident and I didn't need new tires. I've been inconvenienced for months and put in a financial hardship being a full-time student. I've tried talking with numerous Geico associates and have gotten the same corporate handbook-written response. Common sense would tell you if you're hit by another insurance company's policy holder you should not be responsible for any costs to repair your vehicle.

I was told by a friend to check out the rates at USAA. I did and they were $200 less for six months than GEICO.

I took a policy with USAA, and when I called to cancel CEICO they immediately dropped my rate $200 to match USAA. I have been a faithful GEICO customer for 14 years and they have been ripping me off all along.

Totally Agree they are theifssss..

Common sense means having YOUR insurance work it out with geico. Never ever talk to the insurance company or the other driver! Your words are recorded and useds against you!

Car Accident

I was involved in a car accident on 2/8/13. Immediately after filing a report with the CHP on the scene, I called Geico to see what was next. This was my fist accident, so I do not know how to go about these things. They recommended a center that was so to speak "endorsed" by them, called Fix Auto Miramar. It seemed legit, pulled up got my estimate, they gave me a 2 week time frame. Now being that Geico recommended this place, and saying there was some deal in this for me...I went ahead and stuck with the place after reviewing another auto body shop. It has been about a month and 2.5 weeks...and my car is still getting fixed! Point of the story, seek your own body repair shop...Don't believe the *** Geico tells you about their recommended on site estimator locations. THEY ARE SLOW AND LEECH YOU OF YOUR MONEY!
