GEICO - will throttle you for going off automatic bill payments.
Got a car in October. Went with Geico as it was the most reasonable quote.
I took myself off automatic bill pay because I knew the paycheck would be tight 4/29 due to rent also being due, and decided I wanted to be more in control of when I pay my bill. I didn't realize that Geico would then severely "punish" me for no longer using automatic recurring payments or I would have never made that change. I made a regular monthly payment 5/6 to keep my policy in good standing. THEN next day I get a statement saying on 5/22 I STILL owe a DOUBLE payment.
Phone call to them : I was told this is considered "catch up" since I am no longer on auto pay and need to pay a month in advance.
So long story short, I will have to pay 3 payments in May. Once it is time to renew my policy I will almost certainly be going to another insurance company.
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Location: Denver, Colorado

I had to change my debit card as my old one had been compromised. I put in the new # to pay automatically and geico insisted 9n using the old card # making my payment unsucessful. I'm done with their auto pay.
You don't have to wait, just find another company, sign up and cancel Geico. You will get a refund for any money you have paid in advance.
They've done the same thing to me twice. I'll be going with another insurer as well.
When your bill is near you can push back your auto payment a week.
