Beware if you have Geico auto insurance and have a teenager that just got there drivers license, Geico will automatically and him or her to your insurance policy, weather you want it or not. My rate doubled when they added my daughter.

Most auto insurance companies will have an exclusion that you can sign to not cover the teenager driver. Geico will not do that.

We were going to wait until she got a job so she can pay for the insurance and then drive.

The only way to stop them is to cancel the policy, which I did. So if you have Geico before your kid gets there drivers licenses, beware when they do get it.

In my state, the minute your child is licensed by the state, the insurance company knows about it and will increase your coverage to cover the teenager and hit you with an increase in rates. Years ago, you were supposed to tell the insurance company, but no one did.

As a result, the now get this info from the state automatically. Geico, by the way is not the best out there at all.

You might wish to shop around for a new and better auto insurance company. This will give you some incentive.
