Received notice that payment was due. The next day, I couldn't get on their website.
I finally got a robot asking me questions. I pressed the button for payment. An agent told me my auto policy was canceled. He then told me I needed to start a new policy.
He then put me on a recorded message that never let me start a new policy. I was on hold for an hour!

5.5 hours on the phone today. Endless voicemails with pushing buttons.
As soon as you push one, you are hooked to go nowhere. I wanted to cancel my policy. Simple as that. Their website is equally horrible.
About two hours there. Each login I had to change passwords despite hitting the save button. Two hours trying to find cancel. Nowhere to be found.
I'd rate them negative 10 if I could. Go to anyone else. Even if you try to phone an agent in another state, you get the same voicemail each time.
Total waste of time. No one has answered in 4 days of trying.

Preferred solution: From them, nothing but out of my mind for ever. and my policy refund. I tried going to my bank who answers the phone to stop payment.

I am filing a complaint regarding an undisclosed price increase on my auto insurance. I was sent a payment schedule on Oct 23, 2025 when I asked to make monthly payments and each payment was roughly 80-85 dollars.
I went online to update my payment method on Friday December 5th, 2025 and upon viewing my payment schedule saw that GEICO had without warning starting January 2026 decided to raise my monthly payment anywhere from 11 to 20 dollars per payment.
When I asked them about this they very nonchalantly said - oh that was a mistake even though they took the last 2 payments as they were listed on the paper payment schedule I received by mail. I asked them to honor the original payment schedule and the agent refused even though I have no tickets, accidents or incidents or any justification on GEICO's part to all of a sudden try to charge me more and say nothing about it as if I wouldn't notice.

When the policy expired, like I wanted it to, as I was not driving the vehicle, they have charged me to renew when I did not ask to be, and then turned it into collections. Bunch of ***

no, they did not respond to any of my attempts.
I called Geico because I have insurance in past for my vehicle Acura , I ask the agent a new quote for my other vehicle and provided the new garage address so she can easily give me a quote but what that F B. Without my knowledgeShe started the policy I discontinue the call by saying I will think and get back to you but she miss use my information with Geico.
This is so big fraud. I never authorize her for the policy.
I want this agent to be reported and really write up so she wont miss you. Any customer information for her benefit?

On September 26, 2025, a GEICO representative quoted me $2,048.78 for my auto insurance renewal with $500,000/$500,000 liability limits, plus a $60 driving class discount once all drivers completed the course. This is the quote I expect GEICO to honor.
Instead:
GEICO has refused to honor that quote, leaving my policy at lower liability limits.
My premium has been raised 26% over the last six months, without explanation, even though no such increase was approved in New Jersey.
Calls and emails to GEICOs executives, including CEO Todd Combs, have gone unanswered (last unanswered email: 10/1/25).
When I called again on October 1, 2025, I was told underwriting rejected restoring my prior liability limits limits I previously carried with GEICO.
There was no reasonable basis for denial.
Incorrect limits now inflate my umbrella coverage, adding further costs.
I have documented all calls and emails. I also asked GEICO to review the September 26 call recording to confirm the quoted rate.
Despite being directed by GEICOs social media team to chat online for help, and speaking with a polite representative who acknowledged my issue, no one ever followed up.
My Demands:
Honor the $2,048.78 renewal quote plus the $60 discount after course completion.
Restore my $500,000/$500,000 bodily injury liability limits and correct my umbrella coverage.
Provide a written explanation for the 26% premium increase in New Jersey.
As both a long-term GEICO customer and a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder, I believe Warren Buffett would not be pleased to see GEICO treating policyholders this way.
I have also notified the New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance (DOBI) and have shared my story with local and national media already covering GEICOs steep rate hikes.
This situation demands immediate resolution before my policy renewal on October 20, 2025.

I need authorization for tow truck driver to tow my car. Have been trying for two hours. I AM GOING TO DROP GEICO.
I need to have car towed to repair shop. It is disabled but not because of an accident.
Tow driver needs authorization from Geico but impossible because "roadside assistance" indicates an accident.
After TWO HOURS and going around in circles, I have to abandon efforts to have it towed today, SO WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE REPAIR APPT. FOR ANOTHER DAY.

Avoid GEICO as much as possible. They are focus on take as much money as they can even inventing debts internally and will not act in good faith if you have a claim for a coverage. BE AWARE.
By experience as client, Geico is not a company that can be trusted.
All workers are dismissive, liers and don't have any limit to invent profits for the company even affecting clients.
You can not believe or trust anything they say and if you do it be prepare to discover later you were deceived.

Hello to all if any of you reading my encounter with Geico renters insurance and companion policy with Homesite earthquake insurance. I have successfully cancelled and been refunded from both company's thanks to pissedconsumer.com the online watchdog!
for all of us who shop and conduct their business online. My advice, if you choose to be insured with an out of area insurance company make sure you create an online account so you are totally in control.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. I just received my refund I vented here from GEICO renters insurance. Thanks again for providing the public with America's great consumers website, www.pissedconsumer.com.
On 01-11-25 I paid them $34.20 On 02-10-25 I phoned them asking to cancel my policy and was told I would receive a refund in the amount of $21.22 back to the credit card and that it would reflect no later than 02-27-25 and it has not. I did all this over the phone with their staff which may be partially a mistake.
I should have started the policy and cancel from their website. I have since found a local insurance agency for my renter's insurance needs.

I am going to consider talking to other companies. Ive been a customer for years but this is a lot of bull.

I had been with GEICO for years, over 3, when I started noticing that my policy premium was not being processed in a timely manner. I contacted customer support monthly for over 6 months when this happened, and they would not give me a reason why they were unable to resolve my issue. The last straw was when I traded my car and my account was hacked by an employee, and money was taken repeatedly after canceling the policy.

If they are really price gouging then you should have no trouble finding coverage elsewhere at your desired price point.
It is just not what I expected from GEICO. Chairman Warren Buffett seems like a very ethical businessman. I didn't expect to see things run this way at GEICO.
