Complaints

Accident claim improperly processed. Agent took 3 months to follow up with me after car accident. She sent a letter list only one option listed for resolution. We have been with and aid for uninsured motorists for almost 20 years, this is he first we have ever had any kind of auto incident. When I finally got a call back from my claim agent, she was rude and short and told me not to call her to ask her questions since I had a lawyer. I told her I have been paying for this service for and if I had a question about the service she was providing I am going to call my Geico rep.

Horrible Business Practices

I was a loyal customer. I mailed my check in December and my policy was due on 12/26. The check was withdrawn from my account on 1/12. I happen to call to get a quote on a new car and found out I was uninsured. NO call, no email, they claimed to send a letter I never got. They then told me that the check was going to be sent back and that it had been requested that morning. NO check yet. They said they would reissue my monies but due to the gap it would cost an additional $1550 for 6 months. ROBBERY AND THIEVES. I made my payments all through COVID-19. They didn't care. I URGE EVERYONE TO NOT CONSIDER USING GEICO. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRACTICES.D

Billing issues

Miserable billing practices. They lost track of our last two payments. Bank statements showed that the payments had cleared the bank but GEICO didn't process the payment internally in a timely manner. We have been customers for 20 years. When you have to stress about your insurance coverage, you need to find another insurance company. That's exactly what we are going to do.

User's recommendation: It feels like GEICO is losing their qualitative edge either through bad personnel practices (COVID or contracting out services) or they have bad internal management. It's too easy to take your business elsewhere.

Idk why this heading is pissed customer. I was never pissed. I canceled my policy because I found a better rate elsewhere.

I called reqarding my renters insurance.

I have been charged by Geico and Assurant insurance for my monthly renters insurance. I have had to call both companies to find out why and both can't seem to give me any information as to why. I am still on hold with Geico after talking to Assurant. To get through to a speaking customer service agent has been a nightmare. You both need to change your 800 numbers so that a real person can be reached. I will not recommend Assurant or Geico to anyone for service.

User's recommendation: Don't go with Geico or Assurant Insurance companies for renters insurance.

Call back letting me know which will be my renters insurance company and a full refund on one of the charges on my September statement.

High Insurance Cost Contrary to the Ads

We had taken insurance for my daughter, and she had a couple of accidents over a period of two year in one she was at fault. Geico first raised monthly payments to 352 Dollars and then to 744 dollars wt which point we could not afford to pay $10,000 a year for her insurance. The company is credulously expensive with terrible services and unreasonable rate increases! Do not Insure with Geico unless you like bad surprises.

Unfair refund of out of pocket rental car due to crash caused by GEICO customer.

Claim 061064****101017.GEICO Claim # 59-03J7-06N StateFarm GEICO refund only $218 + out of my out of pocket $ 788.47. My car was insured by StateFarm but I have to deal with Geico for my out of pocket rental fee. StateFarm did not help to recoup my out of pocket rental fee.It take a lot of time from the start of claim on Dec 16 2019 until now I do not recoup my deductible $500 and my $788.47 out of pocket rental fee paid on Jan 19 2020.

User's recommendation: You should deal with the insurance company of the party involve in the crash.

Rate increase to an affiliate company

About 50 years ago Geico placed my account onto an affiliate company without my permission. I immediately canceled my Geico account and went with Allstate. Haven't looked back and am oh so glad I dumped Geico ! ! !

Greedy and not helpful

While everyone is hurting with COVID several auto insurance companies are refunding money since people arent driving. GEICO just wants to give a small discount when you renew, for me thats six months. We new money now! Not just for your greedy company to hussel business in the future.

Bad service and employees not listing to customers

why do geico employees call customers by there first name, thats rude and disrespectful, i dont know you. what gives you the right to address a customer by there first name. how many time are geico going to say there sorry, it dosnt mean one thing for an employee to say there sorry for some other employees actions, thats not being polite, thats a load of crap. saying im sorry dosnt put money in my pocket, it dosnt put minnutes back on my phone, it is an excuse. why dont employees listen when a customer is speaking, how can they be a profecional if they dont listen to customers. dont they say can i help you, why do you have to tell a gieco employee to have a supervisor call when a customer askes to speak to a customer, why do they have to be told mutiple times. dont they have basic commen sence. why dont they show the effort and concern.

Check the increase in rates yearly

had insurance this co 5 yrs. No accidents no claims. same vehicles last 3 years and raised rate 10% each year. When asked why vehicles worth less got increased rates each year the agent could not answer. I said your inability to answer tells me its just because you think I wont notice. I told them I would get insured elsewhere and got a major company to provide more service at a 20% price reduction
