GEICO - The phone claim representative lied to me, left me with medical bills to pay
In Feb. 2017 I was rear-ended by a driver insured by Geico.
I went to the doctor multiple times and the clinic billed Geico as instructed by the Geico rep on the phone. Ten weeks later I was feeling better and I closed the claim. I had expected that the medical bills sent by the clinic had been paid (I did not check - my mistake) but alas, they had not been paid. This month i received a bill from the clinic stating that Geico refused to pay and i was responsible to pay them.
I called the same Geico phone rep and she ":looked at her notes" and said that there was no mention that they were paying for the clinic bills (how convenient). She said the claim was closed and was basically SOL.
I had planned on going to FaceBook and blast them but they don't allow posts by non-authorized people so that was a no-go. Moral to the story: Get EVERYTHING in writing when dealing with insurance companies and do not close the claim until you are absolutely sure they have done everything promised.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $385.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
